The Department of Microbiology at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Center for
Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)
together with the Center for Integrated Solutions for Infectious Diseases (CISID) invite
outstanding scientists or physician-scientists for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant
Professor. The candidate will be fully employed by CCIB at MGH in the Department of
Medicine, and their laboratory will be within the rich research community of MGH’s Simches
Research Center. The candidate will also hold a primary academic appointment in the
Department of Microbiology at HMS. Ideal candidates are pursuing innovative approaches
to fundamental problems in infectious disease and immunology relevant to human infection.

The candidate will also be a core faculty member of CISID, which is integrated with the
CCIB at MGH. CISID is an inter institutional collaboration between the Broad Institute, MIT,
Harvard, and affiliated Harvard hospitals, with the goal to advance fundamental biomedical
research in infectious diseases to benefit patient care. The successful candidate will be
offered a competitive startup package to build an independent research program and will
engage in teaching students and fellows in the laboratory and/or classroom. As a member
of the HMS Microbiology department, the candidate will become a member of the Biological
and Biomedical Sciences Program, which is a campus-wide degree program dedicated to
training and mentoring the next generation of scientists. Program members are afforded the
opportunity to teach exceptional graduate and medical students interested in microbiology
and medical sciences.
