New Employee Checklist
Please follow the order of events in this checklist when when you start work in the CCIB.
- HR ORIENTATION A two-day Partners Orientation is required for all weekly paid new hires. This is normally held every Monday (8:30am-4:30pm) and Tuesday (8:30am-1pm). For more information about this orientation, please check here: http://is.partners.org/hr/New_Web/mgh/mgh_employee_new.htm
- OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CLEARANCE At Orientation, your new hire coordinator will give you a form to bring to Occupational Health and will schedule an appointment for you to get cleared for employment. You must attend this appointment and any follow-up visits. Occupational Health is located at 165 Cambridge Street on the 4th floor.
- MGH ID BADGE Get your MGH ID badge at the Police & Security Office in the Wang Building, second floor, room 232. Most people do this directly following the completion of Day 2 of Orientation.
- CCIB CHECK-IN After completing orientation and getting your MGH ID badge, please report to David Waldron in the Simches Research Center, 7th floor. David will register you into the department and organize any initial paperwork that must be completed. David will also interface with the Partners International Office for any visa related issues where needed.
- LAB CHECK-IN David Waldron will bring you to your lab manager who will show you to your assigned bench and/or office space. Your lab manager will also give your assigned telephone number. If you are going to be working at Sidney Street, please check-in there.
- EMAIL AND VOICEMAIL SETUP Information about setting up your email and voicemail accounts is available here: http://ccibis.mgh.harvard.edu/home/work/company/ccib/index.php. If you have any problems or questions about email or other computer issues, see Marc Davignon, across from the seventh-floor tea room.
- LAB PHOTO AND BIOSKETCH See Derwin Hyde [also across from the tearoom on the seventh floor] to have your picture taken for both the tearoom board and the CCIB website. Derwin will also ask you to submit a brief biosketch that will be posted on the CCIB website. David Waldron or Derwin Hyde can give you the biosketch form to complete.
- RADIATION SAFETY COURSE All employees who work in the lab must attend this orientation. It is held every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm at the West End House on Blossom Street. If you do plan to work with radiation, please check in with your lab’s radiation safety officer to receive your radiation monitoring badge.
