  Yuan-Di Halvorsen Clinical Project Leader

Interests

Dr. Halvorsen co-founded two biotech companies with platform technologies in cell-based therapies and target identification processes using primary human adipose stromal cells. She was instrumental in building a GMP facility to manufacture human primary cells for tissue repair. Recently she has focused on clinical research for oncology, and has directed a number of human phase I and multi-center phase II clinical trials.

My prior research experience was in nutrition and public health issues such as AIDS and substance abuse. My current work is fascinating because of its potential impact on diabetes.

I have been a nurse at MGH for 27 years. I did clinical trials with our Rheumatology Department for five years and have worked with anticoagulation management for the last 9+ years. I feel both of these experiences will be of value for my current study work.

Interests

I began work in clinical research at MGH in 1999 after I completed graduate work at Brandeis University's Heller School. Just prior to returning to MGH to work in the Translational Medicine group of the CCIB, I was a project manager at the Harvard Clinical Research Instititute.
